Well,it's election day.Who is it going to be?
My money is on Mr Obama. He wouldn't be my choice but he seems to be the popular favorite.
Why Obama?
He has more charisma for one thing.Words slip a lot easier from his tongue. He can charm people. He seems sincere. He has a facile brain. He'd make a better diplomat.
He has the unusual perspective of being both black and white. Will that help him to see issues on both sides more clearly?
Mr McCain is clearly a patriot. He couldn't do more to prove that he loves his country. He gave five years of his life in a deplorable prison, tortured, crippled. You can be certain, the welfare of his country will always be first and foremost in his heart.Might he lean towards a military solution rather than a diplomatic one,in a crisis?Did his choice of running mate endear him or alienate him from people?
It's a groundbreaking election. One hundred and thirty million people are expected to vote, the largest turnout since 1960.Maybe the polls aren't the only yardstick to go by.People might have a change of heart as they stand in the voting booth.
Great post. My choice is McCaine/Palin. Obama is too much if a wild card.
ReplyDeleteBut that is just my opinion. I am very careful when talking politics since it is so easy to step on other peoples toes without wanting it...
You are so right, its hard to walk the fence.I find American politics fascinating, but of course not as fascinating as DC.
ReplyDeleteThankyou for the compliment Vix.It meant a lot to me.
Your welcome. I just watched THE VIEW. I really like this show. However, I would enjoyed it more if those women didn't start to scream at each other every time one offers an opinion the other clearly doesn't like.
ReplyDeleteWhy not wait until the other one is finished and then adding their two cents..
The constant screaming annoys me and - even if the topic is interesting - I change the channel.
The screaming and the interrupting get on my nerves too much.
ReplyDeleteBarbara picked women who were just a little too opposite in their views.Whoopi seems more level headed than the rest.
I don't like the little blonde chick,Elizabeth.Mouthy,so sure she's right and everyone else is wrong.
They should hire a moderator who beats a gong everytime they start screaming at each other.
ReplyDeleteWhoppi tried to be laid back bust stood no chance agaainst Elizabeth and the black woman nect to Elizabeth. Both are at each others throats constantly.
Some viewers probably like the format,a bitch slapping contest.
ReplyDeleteIt gets old pretty quick though.
You are correct about the other black lady and Elizebeth going at it tooth and nails.
I think McCain had a chance ,they when out the window when he got Palin,McCain is about 72,no one wants Palin running, hell she isn't no "Margaret Thatcher"...well Obama is a very wild card, his black/white side might get into a fight, and he won't know what to do.Vix..we 3 don't give a blue monkey's ass who toes we step on,if they don't like it,just keep on walking..go figure
ReplyDeleteI wonder if they will continue their pickering once the elections are over.
ReplyDeletemore so than ever, you can't please them all..I really don't think Obama is ready,in 4 years ,he will be more season with a little more spice,he's book smart, but not street smart.
ReplyDeleteWhoever win , they need to keep their promises to the people, basically we need to get our country back on track
Yoy are so right about Obama being book smart not street smart
ReplyDeleteCC.
Politics is all about street fighting.Nothing fair about it.You can't be a nice guy all the time.
I wonder if he can hang tough in a nasty situation.
And, your right about a term in office giving him the education he needs.
However,being president shouldn't be an,"on the job training",position.
Glad to see Obama in a landslide. He was clearly the better man. America made me proud last night.
ReplyDeleteThe man is a Harvard Juris Doctor, summa cum laude. Probably the furthest thing possible from 'facile.'
Best to you and this blog.
