Numbers

We have to admit we go there every other weekend - despite the warnings. Our friend offers us a house, good food, good company and a lot of amenities in a relatively safe area. Although, we repeatedly have been told that there is no such a thing like a safe place there. It can happen anywhere and any time of the day.
We are in awe of our friend who lives and works in this place. He has lived there all his life. His children go to school there.
Sadly, it has affected him as well - a friend of a friend ended up getting shot in broad daylight while getting gas...they say he worked for one (there are two groups) of them...485 (according to a local newspaper) dead people in the last two months. That's more than in Iraq at the same time.....

PS: We have been on the lookout for the "Manhunt for a stalker". Either the authorities must conduct this alleged "manhut" deep, deep undercover so that nobody notices or there is no manhunt at all. Just the prosperous fantasy of a random blogger - which is more likely....

The death toll is unbelievable.I just can't conceive of such a place. It looks so beautiful and yet it's so evil.

Apparently though, there's still some nice people there and they're not leaving.they're crazy too.

Jeannie,I agree with you,it is to dangerous of a place to be,yes there are nice people there, but enough is enough, what about the children, they are the future.
Yes some of the people have lived there all their lives, like I have always said, know when to hold them, know when to fold them.

  3. Right. Sadly, the people who live there have come to accept the violence as part of their daily life. They can't rely on the police since part of them are involved as well.It won't stop until one of the organizations controls the whole area.
Our friend told us, there is a joke among residents: "Organized Crime and unorganized police."

The children - believe it or not - yesterday, they showed the funeral of a slain 16 year old boy on TV. A 9 year old boy told the cameraman when he grows up he wants to be a "narco" too - like his brother.
    So sad.
