Beautiful, insane or just a nightmare?

We have never been huge fans of Christmas. We think it is way overrated. While the most important holidays for some, it is a pure nightmare for others. Mightmare insofar, that those who don't like Christmas have to put up with the insanity of people who seem to be addicted to Chritmas.

Look at the pictures: simply beautiful or a nightmare?

We would love to hear what the neighbors of this house think. Are they grateful for the free illumination (we doubt that it ever will get dark in houses around them) or if they are counting the days until this insanity get taken down again?
Last but not least - we would die to know how high the energy bill is they'll get in January 2009...LOL

It is all three.some people over do it..but a lot of people accumulate a lot of keepsakes..a lot of people have a tradition of giving an ornamentto a favorite relative, mother, sister in my case..we all look for them when we go to her home,if only for one day we could put aside the hatred for each other,I will put up with the beautiful, insane nightmare. But do agree the season starts to early and to commericialize, but I love going and looking at the beaytiful lights, children young and old enjoy them here,if only we had snow.

It all depends how someone is raised and how much meaning Christmas had to begin with.
For my grandmother (I grew up with her for a few years) it was very important. For my mother and her husband not so. After my grandmother died I stopped celebrating it at all.
Keepsakes are nice. Hoever, i don't think we own some.

And I hate to be bothered with Christmas stuff as early as October.

I undoubtedly would enjoy it - however, I doubt it would change my view about Christmas.

Snow is nice, but it very easily can kill the fun it it is heavy wet snow that cutts all the power-lines and makes it impossible to drive.

Now, I would like that. I visit the dog-race-tracks in Baja once every month when I'm visiting there. It is a lot of fun.
Now, I wouldn't mind a rrocking Lousiana Christmas Party. Just don't do the JingleBells-stuff on me. LOL.

Christmas is a lot quieter than it used to be around here.Almost everyone is grown up except the twins. It's still a lovely time. They're so excited already, they can't sleep.

We all eat way too much .The food is good.
