Oscar Winner Morgan Freeman has been having an affair nearly a decade-long with his step-granddaughter---a scandalous charge that has emerged in the bitter divorce between the acclaimed actor and his wife Myrna,says a source.The relationship between the 72 year-old actor with step-granddaughter E`Dena Hines,27, began when she was a teen,the source stated.The alleged affair not only contributed to his split from Myrna wife of 25 years,it also led to his breakup with his long time mistress,a former school teacher Mary Joyce hays.

Myrna said E`Dena told her that when she was a teenager,she and Morgan went to dinner at a friend's house one evening.Both had been drinking,and when they returned home, Morgan attempted to have sex with her.They stopped just short of having intercourse,the source,a close family insider said.Myrna confronted Morgan ,and he agreed to leave E`Dena alone---but unbeknowst to Myrna ,the relationship continued.Myrna realized the affair was still on going when E`Dena began acting strangely during a weekend home from college at the Freeman's estate in Mississippi about four years ago,when E`Dena was in her early twenties.Myrna spent an hour talking with E`Dena before her plane was due to take her back to school and noticed she appeared "wired" and "off the wall". E`Dena called Myrna the following day in tears and "freaking out",she said they had sex when she was in California in his hotel room, I just can't handle it anymore.E`Dena told Myrna she had given Morgan sexy pictures of herself as a substitute for being with her,but that was not enough for Morgan,according to the source.E`Dena says she was trying to get him back to being her grandpa and not her lover.

E`Dena is the granddaughter of Morgan's first wife, Jeanette Adair bradshaw,and was raised by Morgan and Myrna "since she was a little girl.In the intro to the book :Proud To Call Mississippi Home", Morgan refers to E`Dena as his granddaughter and says that she is a lovely , intelligent and talented young woman.In 2001, Morgan donated $250,ooo to the Memphis prep school that E`Dena attended. It's not technically incest,because they are not related by blood...[but]Morgan is trying desperately to keep his divorce out of open court, so all the shameful facts won't become public.When the affair continued ,Myrna finally threw in the towel on her marriage, it was the last straw, and she filed for divorce a demanding $60 million. Girlfriend Mary Joyce also ended her romance with Morgan when she realized what was going on between her lover and his granddaughter.
