A boy named Sue

Two parents, a cute kid, and a name that raises a lot of eyebrows. How far can parents go when naming their kids? Can they chose EVERY NAME THEY WANT - i.e. Osama bin Laden. George W. Bush - or are there regulations?
Apparently there are. At least in NJ where authorties didn't find any humor in the choice of a boys name:

...Adolf Hitler - the three year old, that is - is back in the news. According to New Jersey police, the state's Division of Youth and Family Services took Adolf and his two sisters, one-year-old Joyce Lynn Aryan Nation Campbell and 8-month-old Honszlynn Hinler Jeannie Campbell, from their parents' home Tuesday night.
Little Hilter and his parents got their first fifteen minutes of fame after a New Jersey supermarket refused to put his name on a birthday cake. Little Hitler's incredulous
parents talked to the press about the ordeal in December....

Sorry folks, but WHO would name a child like THAT?

  1. Are there more nuts than sane people in the world?Doesn't it feel that way? They're taking over.

The few sane people that are left will have to form a small colony on a desert island.

  2. Sure people should be free to name their kids the way they want. In Germany one Islamic father went to court to be able to name his child Osama bin Laden - and won.
However, those parents are very selfish. They don't waste a thought on how their kids might suffer from the name ther are given. Lets hope the boy can change his name when he is old enough.

I feel the same way as you both feel about naming your kids,we as parents should think about our children carrying their name always..it can make or break them.I have missed you both, going to doctors, running tests on my legs...nothing serious...maybe some blockage...they will take care of it...don't know when.

You're right, the choice of a name is very important. You have to live with it a long time.People often hate their names.I hate mine and Jaye hates hers.
