"Whoopi says Patrick Swayze is her Inspiration"

There's a heart-warming secert hehind Whoopi Goldbreg's decision to sign up for a guest role on the A&E series "THE CLEANER"-she was inspired by her dying pal Patrick Swayze !
The 54-year-old Oscar winner put her acting career on hold to focus on co-hosting "THE VIEW". But her "GHOST" co-star reminded her that acting is what she was born to do and it's the craft that brought them together as friends , said a source. In the June 23 premiere of "THE CLEANER" Whoopi was introduced in the part of Paulina Kmec, the former sponsor of the show's edgy character, a drug counselor William Banks, played by Benjamin Bratt. Whoopi signed to do two episodes and there's already talk about writing her into at least two more, accorfing to the source. Whoopi didn't trumpet the fact, but she was totally inspired to do this role after a long heart-to-heart talk with Patrick.
As an actor, she was completely knocked out by his dedication in "A&E's" the "BEAST" while struggling with cancer. The source said Whoopi and Patrick have been close friends ever since they made "GHOST" 19-years ago. Patrick personally shepherded her through the film, and she feels the Best Supporting Actress award she walked away with cemented her career.
When I won my "Acedemy Award" , the only person I really thanked was Patrick...Because [of how] he said , I'm not making this movie unless you put Whoopi Goldbreg in it. Whoopi's dedicating her part on "The Cleaner ,to Patrick. She feels if it was that important for him that she take this role, she had to do it.
My take on this: Is the same as always, the was you live your life is the way people will remember you....and Patrick you are loved by so many. Your fans and peers. ...stay tuned ...updates as they become available.
