Update on Matthew

The death toll in Haiti as a result of Hurricane Matthew has soared to 283, the government says.
Some 50 people were reported to have died in the southern town of Roche-a-Bateau alone.
The peninsula's main city, Jeremie, saw 80% of its buildings levelled. In Sud province 30,000 homes were destroyed.
The hurricane has again been upgraded to a Category Four storm, the second highest hurricane classification, as it pounds Florida.

MELBOURNE, Fla. — The outer bands of Hurricane Matthew, strengthened to an "extremely dangerous" Category 4 storm, began hitting Florida Thursday afternoon in its first U.S. landfall in an expected 500-mile march of life-threatening winds and storm surges from West Palm Beach to South Carolina.
With Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina under states of emergency, Florida Gov. Rick Scott issued a blunt warning to his 1.5 million coastal residents: "This storm will kill you."

  1. This storm has just got started ... it's predicted this storm is going all the way up the coast .
I do think climate change has a lot to do with these storms getting worse .
