For Aunt Jeannie : NASA releases stunning image of the total solar eclipse from space

NASA offered extensive coverage of the August 21 total solar eclipse and the space agency isn't done sharing.

NASA shared an "Image of the Day" on Wednesday, showing the moon's shadow, or umbra, on the face of the Earth as it blocked the sun's rays.

Only six people -- NASA’s Randy Bresnik, Jack Fischer and Peggy Whitson, ESA (European Space Agency’s) Paolo Nespoli, and Roscosmos’ Commander Fyodor Yurchikhin and Sergey Ryazanskiy -- were afforded the spectacular view from orbit.

The eclipse's path of totality spanned from Oregon to South Carolina and was viewable from all lower 48 states.

Monday's phenomenon, dubbed "The Great American Eclipse," was the first total solar eclipse to pass over the United States since 1979.

Aunt Jeannie ,
What a beautiful sight , I hope this make people appreciate  our planet more , I told mama  that our so call president  should stop talking about a wall  and start helping  to find a  way to  help our planet .
Daddy said , son , that is just wishful thinking , there is nothing in it for him .
Chris says we  will teach this Saturday .
Bushel of love coming your way .

  1. Wow!! What stunning images...just awesome. I so wish I could have seen it for real. You have it so right Jonny and Chris...I wonder when people will realize that our world is in danger and that affects all of us. People, including Mr Trump, can't think globally. I think he wants to build walls, invisible and real ones around your whole country. Walls don't just keep people out, they trap you inside.
Thank you very much for the video and post guys. Loved it and love you too.

    Aunt Jeannie,
When we was looking for something to teach at Sci-Port , Chris and I found this video and story , I told Chris we had to send you that one also . He said yes we do , aunt Jeannie would get a kick out of it .
We asked daddy to post it for us, he said sure , Mama said you are getting your house remodel and when they finish you will have more time to do things you want to do , I know you will be glad .

Aunt Jeannie , Man had a fight at school it was a bunch of 5th graders that jumped Bubba , RJ and Man ,we have a lot of cousins that go to school there , Uncle Gerald said he tried to stop them with other teachers , he told daddy those little kids pushed him down , he said he was proud of them , he could not let it show , they held their ground , both boys and girls . Uncle Gerald said he had to suspend all of them it was 8 5th graders and it was about 10 of the little guys on man's side , Uncle Gerald said Man's side wore them out , one of the girls went crying to the office CC and one of uncle Chris granddaughter team up on her and they beat her butt .
Bubba got his lip busted and Man got a black eye .
Mama and aunt Anita had a fit and daddy told Man that was the nicest shiner he seen since uncle Gregg was about their age .
Mama got mad at daddy and said it was not pretty .
Daddy said , Baby , Man is proud of his shiner , he is wearing it like a badge of honor . All of them was suspended until Tuesday after Labor Day .
aunt Jeannie , here's hoping all your family is well .
Hurricane Harvey is wrecking Texas , people is stranded and it is headed to Louisiana and up the coast , we have got a few people from Texas , all the Hotels here are gearing up to handle lots more , Daddy and Sams Town is going to donate a floor to them and if they need more more they will donate more . All the casinos are donating bed and board .
Poppa said we may get some spin off from Harvey , tornados , thunderstorms and flooding .

  4. Hey Chris and Jonny,
I did enjoy the post and video. Yes I am renovating my house. I am here tonight because I have to let a bunch of plumbers and electricians in here first thing tomorrow morning. What a mess. White plaster dust all over everything. I won't be doing this again.
That was a big fight...I wonder what it was about. My dad always said not to start a fight at school, but if someone insisted on pushing me around or bullying me, then I should finish the fight the best way I knew how. He taught me how to box. He was a boxer in the British Army. If Man, Bubba and RJ held their ground and did not back off or act afraid, then they did very well. Uncle Gerald was right to suspend all of them though. Fighting is not allowed at school and all them were guilty of fighting. He was being fair.
But you can't help feeling proud of the little guys. They won't be bullied. It was a pretty rough fight if they got shiners and split lips.
WE heard about Hurricane Harvey up here and people here are gathering blankets and supplies to send down there. Texas is going to be hit a second time by Harvey, I hear. And Louisiana will get slammed down around New Orleans. A large part of Texas is below sea level and so that's why they are getting flooded. Now they have a new danger: some of the dams are overflowing or bursting as the rivers flood. Poor people. The hotels in your town are always good about letting evacuated people stay there. I remember when Katrina happened. That was a really bad one for New Orleans. I think your Daddy donated two floors that time.
How does Uncle Harvey feel having a hurricane named after him? Hahahaha!
Thank you for the love. I can feel the warmth all the way up here. And I send some love back at you. You can't have too much.
    Thank you guys
    Always your friend
    Aunt Jeannie
