SPACE — On May 9, NASA filmed footage of Mercury passing by the sun. The rare event, called a transit, only happens slightly more than once a decade. According to NASA, while Mercury passes the sun every 88 days, over four times faster than the Earth, it's not normally visible to us as the three celestial bodies rarely align.
Mercury was seen passing by the sun as a tiny black dot. The planet's entire travel across the sun, as visible from Earth, took about 7.5 hours. But Mercury is too small to be visible without magnification, so NASA took it upon themselves to create a stunning video, which was released the night of the event.

Aunt Jeannie , this video is so cool . Chris and I have a lot of fun in NASA class , we think our sisters go to see how many cute boys there are in class , daddy say that's what girls do , daddy is so funny .

The last four transits occurred in 1999, 2003, 2006, and May 9, 2016. The next will occur on November 11, 2019, and then on November 13, 2032. A typical transit lasts several hours.
Mercury, the smallest planet in our solar system, passes between Earth and the sun about 13 times a century. The last trek took place in 2006 and the next one will be on November 11, 2019, according to NASA.

We get out of school June 3 this year , daddy friend is here from Canada , he want poppa and mama to help him open a restaurant like Edmond here . We do not think daddy will let mama and poppa go by themselves , daddy said if anything happen it would take him to long to get to them .
Chris and I get paid for delivering packages , daddy bought me the golf cart because we was delivering them in Man wagon
We did not debate this year , David family move to another state , his daddy had a better job offer . we could not find anyone that would work with us .
We are excited about high school , there is a debate team , we will not join one , there are so many more things to do to get ready for college . We want to play sports and girls . Poppa said I am like my daddy , poppa said now daddy only play poker .

Wow you guys sure know a lot about Mercury's voyages. You know a lot more than I do. I would love your NASA class because I've always been fascinated by the stars. June third is not far off my friend. Do you have any special plans for summer? Like a summer job or volunteer work? ReplyDeleteI am disappointed that your debate career is over. I thought you guys were wonderful.
But as you say, there will be so many other activities in high school it will make your head spin. You will have the time of your life in high school. You can do more grown up things while still enjoying being a kid. It's awesome.
I don't think Daddy will let those two go to Canada by themselves either..Hahahaha!
Heaven knows what they would get up to. He would be worried the whole time.
