Action ironman Sylvester Stallone broke his neck making his latest movie and needed secert emergency surgery to patch him up !
The 63-year-old Rocky and Rambo star was hurt filming a brawl with ledendary wrestler 'Stone Cold Steve Austin ' for Expandables, which is due for release in August.
My fight was so vicious I got a hairline fracture in my neck and had to have a very serious operation, reveals Stallone,"I now have a metal plate in my neck."
Shooting started last March, but Sly - who wrote, directed and went all out performing his own stunts - kept his injury hush-hush until recently.
The Expandables features Stallone and Austin,45, along with renowned Hollywood tough guys Arnold Schwarzenegger, 62, Bruce Willis, 54, Mickey Rourke, 57, Jason Statham, 41, and Dolph Lundgren,50, as mercenaries on a mission to overthrow a dictator.
Brittany Murphy, who died December 20 at age 32, makes her last appearance in the film, which Sly promises has hard-hitting-action from the get-go. "It was seven guys kicking each other's butts, one guy tougher than the next," says Stallone. "No joke our stunt men were begging for mercy."
My spin: I love all these guys' movies, they are a rough and tumble group. It's worth taking a look when it reaches a theatre in your area . I think the old saying is..."GET IT DONE."
Kicking back and keeping it real.
Sly is way too old to do his own stunts. He should know better. He is an exceptionally intelligent man.No one gives him credit for that. Sadly he backs bad movies that bomb in the theatre.
