    My dear sweet lady,
My daudhter said come quick dad Jeannie sent you something special.
Thank you for the well wishes and I plan on having many more but if I should leave tomorrow or next 10 or 20 years the world don't owe me a thing.
I have had great joy and great saddness in my lifetime and I have seen many changes , some good some bad , the good ones out weighs the bad ones.
My birthday party was a very nice surprise, I don't know how my grands kept it from me. Maybe that is what the in house begger was trying to tell me.
Got nice gifts (Joanna cooked the lemon cake recipe you sent me)
I do believed they had this planned before we left for DC.
It is so wonderful to have so much love surrounding you,I know my dear Rosa is looking down and smiling ,I still have so much to do.
We had a great time in DC but I will get to that one in part 2.
How is your dear mother? I bet she is keeping everyone on their toes. My daughter tells me you and your mother has a girls day out every week what a lovely daughter you are, you will always have good memories of your mother which I know we can be a pain in the rump sometime , it is all love.
I hope your dear husband is doing well, my daughter tells me he had a great checkup and things was looking good. That was so great to hear, I hear he is a good man and done things for himself all the time, I know that it is hard to give in and let the young ones do the things you once did with ease. I am learning and he will too.
Now I will tell you about DC.
    G.

    My dear sweet lady,
The trip to DC was better than expected since none of us had an idea what we was up against, glad Nanette went ahead to get a place to stay.
There was a bunch of Louisiana people going to DC on their ass and a prayer, we made it and met a lot of interesting people, we learned a lot to help us understand just what we are up against. some had different agendas, they all ended up being the same such as gobal warming, species and everything about saving our planet.
My daughter and the rest of us stayed at the courthouse and my son took my grands on tours, Mac and the other driver went with him, they said to help him with the kids,I know they was going where the fun was. That along was worth the trip.
We had Nanook posters and we met a very nice group from Vancouver, Canada, they were the first we made friends with, we got a lot of information that we didn't know about what a great help that will be. One lady from the Canada group gave me a Nanook shirt and I wear it with pride. She asked me how long had we planned our trip,I introduced her to my two daughters and told her it took them about 4 to 6 weeks to bring it together.
She (Carrie from Canada) is a pretty little thing about 65 I would say and her best feature, she is a brunette with a lovely smile.
Each evening when we all meet up for dinner my grands had so much to tell their mother, they enjoyed the History Museum, the White House was ok but they didn't like the lines.
We met a group from Bossier City and they said they would joined us and form a charter, I told them my daughter had a very large place to meet and it is warm in winter and cool in summer.
We didn't do to much , stood around talking exchanging information and trying to catch some lobbyist as they came out or went in. Lois had a box of pamphlets so we gave them out, she is a nice lady and a very hard worker.
I was told by the Canada group this is their third trip here on the loophole deal and maybe this will tell the story. A man came out and said it was looking good and pointing in our favor.
This is another step up the ladder for all of us.
My dear sweet lady I will shut down for now but will be back very soon.
Again I think you for the wonderful greeting.
    Your friend and secret admirer.
    G.

  3. Dear G,
I am so glad you enjoyed your surprise party and accepted the outpouring of love with grace. My husband hates surprise parties with a passion and so naturally, we throw one for him every year.

I guess you have seen monumental changes in 83 years. Did you ever think you would see a man walking on the moon and in a few years from now, on Mars? What about microwave ovens and 3D TV?
Have people really changed so much or are they still the same deep down? Have our values changed? Sorry, I warned you I would bug you with questions...HA!

Rosa is having fun watching you and your grandkids and all the new adventures you're having.I have been told, the'in-house begger'speaks a strange language known only to him. I think his grandma would have understood him.

My mom is sharp as a tack. No way she has lost any of her marbles. She is quite weak now but we still go out and go slowly. She can walk if she has a walker or shopping cart to lean on.She loves to pick out her own food. She likes to watch all the people and children go by and she enjoys stopping for lunch and a chat with me. I will tell her you asked after her. Thankyou

  4. My husband is indeed a good man, the best. Above all things, he hates to ask for help. He also hates to give up or give in. He is a stubborn Englishman and I love him so much it hurts me to see him struggle.
If you met some good people in DC, with the same goals and if you learned something, then the trip was worth it. And if the kids had fun that was the gravy.

I am so proud of your bunch of louisiana people. One thing I have always loved about Americans, if they believe in something they go all the way. They are very pro-active.
I am so pleased there are Canadian people down there getting involved in the 'loophole' debate too. I guess we are all Nanook's friends in Canada in one way or another.

If the Bossier group join you, you will be a force to be reckoned with. The more people you have, the louder your voice will be. So there's another bunch of Louisiana people to be proud of. According to Nee you recruited them yourself, G.

It sounds like Lois is indispensible to the group, Nee's right hand.I hope she enjoys the work.
I have not yet seen any decision in the media but I was thrilled to hear from you that it looks promising. If we win this one G, it's a big step forward.

Thankyou for the nice long letter. I was so looking forward to hearing about the trip. It's not too often one's friends go haring off across the country on a wing and a prayer to follow a cause. I am happy you all arrived home safe and sound.

Enjoy being '83'. At that age you don't have to be nice or good. If you don't feel like it,'to hell with it'(that's Nana's Motto)...Luv Jeannie
