The Truth is Out There

A Delta rocket,carrying the Keplar Telescope blasted off from Cape Canaveral Airforce Station in Florida on March 6th.The pioneering Keplar will survey a far corner of the galaxy called the Sygnus Lyra Constellation in hopes of finding other earthlike planets;planets with a perfect atmosphere to support life,not too hot, not too cold and of course lots of water in liquid form.

There will be about one hundred thousand planets within the telescope's field of view.It will observe them from 3 to 3 1/2 years and could be extended to as much as six years.Nasa scientists are looking for periodic dimming of stars. This indicates planets are passing in front of them and allows calculation of the planet's size and orbit.If the orbit takes a year,that is another parallel to our own planet.When such a planet/planets are observed they will send up a bigger telescope for much closer study.

Everyone knows that finding a planet like Earth is the Holy Grail of all astronomers.Some people like to think that we are the only living beings in the vast universe.How lonely.

I like to believe there is life in some form,inhabiting at least a few of the billions of planets in the universe.

The truth really is out there.

"GUMBO" Cooking with "CUPCAKE"

This is my take on gumbo...you use everything but the kitchen sink..everyone has leftovers...let's not throw them away.....save these in plastic freezer bags...it mounts up quickly.
Ham---chicken---turkey---pork roast.....smoked sausage....cut all in small pieces
2 lbs.okra cut in 5/8 inches
2 cup chopped onions
2 stalks celery with leaves chopped
1 large bell pepper chopped
40r 5 cloves of garlic ,minced
2 sprigs fresh thyme or 1/3 teaspoon of dried thyme.....1 bay leaf
2 cups of skinned tomatoes or 1 can tomatoes
6 cups of water
2 pounds of fresh shrimp(I use more shrimp...I also leave them whole)
2 tablespoons of chopped parsley
make a rue (to make a rue..is browning flour for gravy)saute all your meats lightly in a skillet...saute okra in pan dripping for about 5 minutes...if you are using con okra..skip the sautering.add onions for the last 2 minutes.
Add celery,green peppers,garlic,thyme,bay leaf,tomatoes,and water(if a thicker gumbo is desired...use less water.
Shell and divined from the shrimp.Let the soup boil and reduced the heat....let cook for about 2 hours...stirring occasionally...the last 30/45 minutes ,add your shrimp and parsley...simmer
Serve over boiled rice ....serves about 8 to 10 ....
My family like it hot so I also uses "Jalapeno Peppers"what ever your choice of taste...some like it in between...so it is up to you.....
I leave my shrimp whole....my family likes it that way....you can never make too much...my leftovers if I have any ...I put it in freezer bowls and put in freezer....don't last long ...dad will eat it for breakfast,so if there is a recipe you like let us know.....we have a million of them...just like grandmother used to make....see you soon....(GIGGLES)

President Obama is expected to lift the ban on federal funding for research on stem cells.it should be official by Monday.

President Bush blocked the use of government monies to fund research on human embryonic stem cell lines created after August 09/2001.

Scientists say stem cell research will definitely lead to medical breakthroughs.

Some religious groups still oppose the research .We'll have to drag them,kicking and screaming into the 21st century.

The stem cells used in the research are harvested from unused embryos created as a result of in vitro fertilization at fertility clinics.These embryos would normally have been destroyed after a certain period of time.What a waste of viable cells.The stem cell is a chameleon like cell that can transform itself into any other type of human cell,be it bone,muscle or nerve.One embryo can provide a limitless supply,because the cell lines can be grown indefinitely.Researchers have also been developing techniques to create stem cells without using embryos,by modifying other types of cells.Some of the first people to benefit from this research will probably be those paralyized by spinal chord injuries.

Dr.George Daley of the Harvard Stem Cell Institute,said,"I feel vindicated after eight years of struggle.I know it's going to energize my team."

President Obama said,"The restrictions placed on funding of 'human embryonic stem cell research'have handcuffed our scientists."He also indicated,we need to keep pace with the rest of the scientific world....Kudos Mr.Pres.

Have you ever been walking down the street and seen a big tree and had an impulse to climb it?You pause,glance around to see if anyone is looking and then walk on,feeling a little foolish.Your inner child was speaking and you didn't listen.Driving down the road on a rainy day,you see a big puddle.It's almost irresistible,that urge to drive through it and make a big splash,but you don't.Ever want to stop on the way home from work and buy a double scoop rainbow ice-cream cone,even though it'll spoil your dinner?I have.The difference between us is,that I did it and you didn't.It was delicious,that forbidden fruit.It made me chuckle all the way home.

Now,don't tell me you don't have an inner child.We all do.It's the little child you were,who desired to be nurtured,cared for,loved and indulged.The child who delighted in things,was carefree and had fun.This child still dwells within you as an adult and has shaped you and will continue to influence you all your life.You may have matured and tried to channel,control and silence it,but there it is,needing to be set free now and again.

If your childhood was unhappy,then you,of all people,should embrace that child,and heal it.Speak to your inner child and say to it,"I love you,I accept you,I'll protect you and give you all the things you've missed."Then,go directly to Disneyworld.

The child you were,knows how to have fun,for fun's sake and can help you prevent burnout and manage the stress in your life.So,now and then,listen,and let go of your mature,serious,somewhat anal,task oriented demeanor and let your child out.Follow an impulse.Climb a tree,paddle in a stream,eat ice-cream till you feel nauseous,whatever floats your boat.It is so freeing,you'll chuckle all the way home.

Octuplet's Mom....Ex. speaks out....

Marcos Gutierrez may no longer be married to Nadya Suleman,and has nothing to with her octuplets and six other children,he still speaks highly of her.

Marcos Gutierrez,who has remarried with two(2) kids of his own,separated from Nadya Suleman after four(4) years of marriage in 2000. Marcos Gutierrez filed for divorce in 2006...after their separation,Nadya Suleman went on to fourteen(14) children...no help from him...you could almost hear the sign of relief in his voice.

Marcos Gutierrez tells Inside Edition...she is my ex. wife...they are not my kids...but I wish her the best....I want her to be happy....happiness for her is having all those kids....Marcos insists,despite there divorce,he's pulling for Nadya...he says she is not a bad person,she's a good person with a great heart.

O.K. O.K. we have heard from the (EX.HUSBAND) saying in so many words he's glad they are not his...now when will we hear from the donor...(GIGGLES)

My take on this....Nayda Suleman may be a kind person with a great heart....she is one crazy person with a bad mental health problem...remember she was injured in the riot at the mental hospital where she worked....

Just when we all have tighten our belts and economize.....California's economy is in a helluva shape....now this freeloader...the "STATE" has to take care of the children....my suggestion it to take them all ...put them in foster care....at least the taxpayers won't have to take care of Nadya Suleman........don't forget to give her a hysterectomy...but hey that's just me....http:People.com...ex:speaks out
