I chose these pictures from literally thousands, available on the internet.It's easy to track his journey from 'The Jackson Five' to disfigured looking, eccentric recluse. Harder to figure out why.
Why did Michael torture his poor face so? He progressed from a beautiful African American boy to a mangled, freakish looking creature with a ghastly complexion.
Perhaps he hated his real image so much, he wanted to get as far away from it as possible . He succeeded. He couldn't be further removed.There is nothing left of the handsome boy he used to be.
He resembled his dad. Did he hate his dad so much, he wanted to be nothing like him? There were long standing issues between them.You'll notice ,also, that Michael's dad is not even mentioned in his will. There might be something more to that.
Was Michael aware that his sister Latoya claims she was repeatedly raped by their father? Perhaps he saw something or was a victim of abuse himself.
Many people have observed that he transformed himself into a caricature of a white woman,right down to the lipstick, until his sexual identity became quite blurred. He wanted nothing to do with women sexually. Why would he wish to appear as he did? Did he, perhaps, think that his feminine appearance would appeal to young boys and engender their trust in him?
So many questions Michael, like, did you really molest those boys ? Were your own children safe from you? The answers go to the grave with you.
What we do have, is a body of work that proves you were incredibly talented in so many areas: singing, dancing,composing ,directing and producing.
I still have the impression though, that the sad, scarred, distorted face was an indication of a tortured soul.
