A global audience watched captivated on Wednesday as the first of 33 miners trapped for a record 68 days deep underground emerged into the cold night air of Chile's Atacama desert. People logged on and tuned in to read, watch and listen as Florencio Avalos was successfully extracted from the depths of the San Jose mine at 0310 GMT, followed by co-worker Mario Sepulveda exactly one hour later.
The fate of the men, who were trapped more than 600m underground for 17 days before being discovered, has become a momentous human interest story, enthralling people at every twist and turn. Wellwishers from every corner of the globe, ranging in status from fellow miners to heads of state, have turned their attention on the remote site.
Initially given up for dead, grieving had already begun when a sensational note was found tied to a drill probe on Aug 22 saying: 'All 33 of us are well inside the shelter'.
Millions have since followed the painstaking rescue efforts as a shaft wide enough to extract the men was drilled in an unprecedented months-long operation, imagining the nightmarish existence of the men deep underground. As the rescue bid got under way, live images from the site were broadcast to viewers in New York, Sydney, London and Tokyo. The operation is expected to take two days and the miners are being taken to hospital for examination, although they appear to be in great shape. They have to wear sunglasses to protect their retinas from the strong light they are no longer used to. They are all jubilant and fully appreciate the miracle of their rescue.

I watched the miners until around 1:am the families were over joyed with happiness. It is always nice to see a good ending come from a bad beginning.

My daughter will get wrapped up in a project , she wants to see that things to go right. Joanna told her she got the ball rolling and leave the rest to others. My daughter told Joanna she was doing the things no one else wanted to do and that was working in the background, Joanna asked my daughter did she hear and understand what she was saying and she wasn't going to say it again and you go sit your musty butt down, I may be your sister by birth, my mother gave you to me so that makes you my baby.
My dear sweet lady, Joanna is the matriach of this family, she has a quiet and gentle way about her, but she is hell on wheels. My daughter is just like her in so many ways.
Joanna is so very proud of what my daughter and Nanette has accomplish with there lives, the two is more like sisters .

ReplyDeleteHello there, I dated an alien once, one time was enough because her honey pot was in her navel, she kept nibbling at my nipples so I got the hell out of there, it was a nice ride while it lasted. I told my daughter that and she said really now dad you poked an alien?
What I think about life in outer space? Yes there is something out there and they are beganing to notice us and as we become more intelligent,I don't think they fear us we are so low on the totem pole they don't feel we are a threat to them, but the deeper in space we go the more interesting we become.
There are more out there than what meets the eye, people are seeing UFO's more often as we learned more about the Universe. It is also said that UFO's used clouds for cover, maybe yes , maybe no.

I am so looking toward the trip to DC and trying to talk my daughter into riding with Mac and me, 8 can ride comfortable and Mac will have another driver with him. My grands is helping me win her over.
Now you asked what advice I would givr to Obama : I would tell him to stop playing the nice guy role, get off his ass and stop trying to please everyone because it can't be done , the nice guy thing will not work, not to many people likes him anyway. some in his own party don't care for him, do it his way , he has nothing to lose.

When I was starting out, broke and trying to make my way, some people didn't like me , I knew where I was going and if they didn't like me I told them to bite me,( not in that term ) my family and friends I never left behind I always wanted everyone to have a piece of the pie.

My son is still drawing up the papers and Circus will have control because they have the know how.
My daughter and Anita was at human resources all day getting the shareholers names ,addresses and how many shares they have,I will sell some of my shares to Circus my son will combine my shares with my daughters and we will have more that my family here .
The Reno property is a done deal they have 5 years to pay me out and that's the deal my son gave them here, my son says anyone can beat up people with there fists but he is going to enjoy beating them with the power of his mind.
Nanette offered her shares and he told her no he wanted her to keep hers in case of a swing vote.
It was fun to watch all the action and my daughter is going to be great, my son will see to her being prepared.

ReplyDeleteIt's so nice to hear that someone else has had extra terrestrial sex. I,also, was fortunate enough to date an alien. I knew right away he was different. His pecker was in the middle of his forehead. The poor guy; it kept getting in his eyes; he couldn't see a thing. The only way he could clear his vision enough to drive was to constantly stimulate it. On long trips, that was my job.
He wanted me to meet his mother but, to be honest, the thought of her gigi being in the middle of her face made me a little nauseous so, sadly, I had to end the relationship.
Eventually I married an earth man but he has long been puzzled why I always put my hand down his pants on long trips.
Every family needs a matriarch and I have gradually recieved the impression over the last 2 1/2 years that Joanna was that person. They all look to her in times of trouble. It's a handy thing when your matriarch has a medical background too. She is very practical and gives good advice,to which Nee always listens. They have a special relationship.
And I couldn't help but notice that Joanna has a wonderful sense of humor which she has in common with you. It's so great when you can share that. Brian and I have always enjoyed that kind of fun together.

Do I think there are sentient beings on other planets?? Yes, without a doubt.
How could we be so arrogant as to believe that in this vast, infinite universe, where there are countless billions upon billions of stars and planets,that we are the only living entities. Impossible.

I believe that some of them will be far more advanced than we are and some of them, not so much. And on some planets we will find very primitive life forms.
ReplyDeleteThey are finding that all the planets, so far discovered, are made of the same stuff as earth and so it is possible that all forms of life were created from the same elements, proteins and amino acids as we were and are carbon based, to some degree, as we are.
I tend to agree with Stephan Hawking that we should avoid alien species as long as possible because if they view us as primitive animals, they will treat us as such and merely mine our planet for all the raw materials they can extract. This will probably destroy what's left of earth.
You are so right about Obama. Nice guy tactics will not make him popular because it can't sweep away three hundred years of racism in one term. It's ingrained in the fabric of America. People still have the slave owning attitude of their great, great grandfathers. They can't believe a black man could possibly have the intelligence to run a country and they resent the idea of him making decisions for them. Mr Obama has to get very tough.
I get from what you said, that you were very tough when you were starting up on your own in business. Maybe even a bit ruthless?? Well, it got you where you wanted to go.
As for family, just because they are related to you doesn't make them good people. You did your best for them so have no regrets.
Unscrupulous people are only nice to you while they have a use for you or can get something out of you. It doesn't matter what you have already done for them. They don't feel gratitude. They are the same the world over. They are the scavengers of the species.
You have found you true home with your son and daughter and grandkids and I think young Jonny needs you, maybe more than your other grands. Things won't always be easy for him. He needs you to instill in him some of that confidence and ambition that made you an achiever. He won't let you down.

I thought CC might get the controlling interest or, perhaps,control by representing Gil's interest. Gil doesn't have the time to run the business. It will certainly tie the hands of your brothers and others. What fun for you to sit back and observe. They will not have the control they assumed they would.I think it's not just the money they wanted access to, it's the power.
